Sherry Sue Lack, 63 passed away Wednesday April 25, 2012 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC.

She was born July 20, 1948 in Union, Mississippi the daughter of the late George Lamar Lack and Mary Sue Cox Lack Ely.

Sherry was an esteemed educator for over 30 years, retiring from the Horry County School District. She enjoyed using her creativity through her writing and loved sharing this with her students. Sherry loved flowers and gardening and was always so proud to share pictures of her latest flower arrangement or show off her beautiful yard. Sherry was a beloved Aunt to her nieces, being a wonderful confidant and cheerleader for them. Sherry was happy to serve as the family historian and has gathered a large collection of historical papers, pictures and stories for the family to continue to share. Sherry was a beautiful and proud woman who excelled in her career and who also understood the importance of family and friends in her life.

Survivors include her two brothers, George Lack and wife Debra, Randy Lack and wife Lynn; nieces, Weslyn L.Chickering and husband Gordon and great nephew, Charlie; Mary Virginia “Ginnie” Lack; Brandi Hall and husband Luke and great nieces and nephews, Gracelyn and Wallace; and Heidi Hesla and Loren Hesla. Surviving also is her uncle, Raymond Cox and wife Helen.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM Saturday April 28, 2012 at McMillan-Small Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Sunday April 29, 2012 at Southern Palms Memorial Gardens in North Myrtle Beach, SC with Dr. Lewis Johnson officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grand Strand Humane Society, 3241 Mr. Joe White Ave. Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.

Harold Dwaine Jackson Jr.

Sherry and I were good neighbors and I was quite surprised to see that she had pased away.  She was a very nice person and always seemed to make the most out of life. If her brother (George) reads this,  I would like to make contact with him.
